- North Carolina textile mill “doubling down” in response to tariffs Today, performance fabrics make up a significant percentage of STI’s business, and the STI team is focused on increasing market share in both indoor and outdoor upholstery markets. Gibbons noted that as lifestyles shift toward homes with children, pets and more casual living, STI’s fabrics meet consumer expectations for comfort, style, and performance. He added that company executives expect fiber science to drive the next wave of innovation. Consequently, STI is currently exploring how to maximize the natural performance properties of fibers including wool, polyester and polypropylene for all potential growth categories. “The future is bright at STI,” he said. “We look forward to providing performance and value textiles for years to come.” [wpcc-iframe src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/Y3VCNWL56G4” width=”640” height=”360”]
