India's index of industrial production grows 1.5% in June 2025

India’s index of industrial production (IIP) grew at 1.5 per cent in June this year compared to 1.2 per cent in May, according to quick estimates. It stood at 153.3 in the month against 151 in June last year. The IIP growth rates of the manufacturing and electricity sector in the month were 3.9 per cent and minus 2.6 per cent respectively; the indices for these two sectors were 152.3 and 217.1 respectively, a release from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation said. The IIP growth rate of manufacturing in June was 3.9 per cent. Within manufacturing, 15 out of 23 groups saw positive YoY growth. The indices for textile and apparel manufacturing grew by 1.2 per cent and 4.2 per cent respectively in June. The IIP stood at 151.3 for primary goods, 115.2 for capital goods, 167.9 for intermediate goods and 198.3 for infrastructure/construction goods in June 2025. The indices for consumer durables and consumer non-durables stood at 130.8 and 144.6 respectively.
