Share Chorka Group, a trusted name in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector, operates two key sister concerns—Chorka Textile Ltd and Chorka Apparels Ltd—that together deliver a complete, vertically integrated manufacturing solution. Chorka Textile Ltd focuses on producing high-quality yarns and fabrics using advanced machinery, skilled craftsmanship, and strict quality and environmental standards to serve both local and international markets. Complementing this, Chorka Apparels Ltd specializes in manufacturing premium knitwear and woven garments for leading global brands, offering end-to-end services from design and development to bulk production and timely delivery. United under the Chorka Group’s commitment to innovation, ethical practices, and sustainability, these companies work in synergy to provide consistent quality across the entire textile value chain while supporting long-term industry growth.
In an engaging discussion with the Textile Focus team, Mohammad Shahan Shah Azad, Executive Director of Chorka Apparels Ltd., emphasized the company’s strong commitment to product innovation and value addition. Mohammad Shahan Shah Azad said, “I’m working for PRAN RFL GROUP for 23 years and with Chorka for 4 years and it is very well-known for its intimate apparel. At present, along with these items, we are also focusing on some value-added products — from T-shirts to hoodies weighing up to 400 GSM. We are trying our best to take orders based on our production capacity so that we can ensure on-time shipment. Chorka Group has two sister concerns — Chorka Apparels Ltd and Chorka Textile Ltd — and both are part of the PRAN-RFL Group. Since these two companies play a significant role in Bangladesh’s economy, we make it a priority to maintain on-time shipments and consistently high quality. Our working environment here is very good, especially for female employees.
One of our strengths is that we never compromise on payment, and we were the first organization to implement wage increases in proportion to last year’s salary adjustments. We provide lunch for everyone in the factory, from workers to management. We also have dormitory facilities for more than 1,200 people. There are training programs available here that help improve workers’ skills. We provide transportation within a 10 km radius of the factory, including both buses and boats. Additionally, we have a well-equipped design section and design studio.”
He also added, “Considering the growing importance of green industries and environmental protection, we have taken several initiatives. As a result, Chorka Textile Ltd received approval last month as a Green Certified Factory. Our dyeing facility is moving toward the Zero Plan program, supported by H&M as a partner. We have installed solar panels on every factory roof, which helps us save a considerable amount of electricity. In our upcoming projects, we have shifted from producing more than 80% intimate garments to now allocating only 50% of our capacity to them, with the rest going toward a variety of other garments. Recently, we have established a sock factory with 120 machines and have already received orders. We are also working on seamless and bonding technology, which has been well-received. We have recently set up a factory in Rajshahi and are awaiting certain approvals to begin compliance operations there. We also have a local brand called “Winner,” which currently has 10–12 outlets across Bangladesh. Foreign buyers are also supporting us, and if possible, we plan to bring our garments to many remote areas as well. In my view, PRAN-RFL Group’s Chorka Textile Ltd and Chorka Apparels Ltd are going to make a major contribution to Bangladesh’s economy, and we are working toward that goal.”
