Yarn Expo Autumn 2025 to bridge East–West collaboration and push sustainability

Yarn Expo Autumn 2025, set to take place from 2 to 4 September at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, is gearing up to be a major hub for sustainable innovation and international collaboration in the yarn and fibre industry. Co-located with other major events such as Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, CHIC, PH Value, and Cinte Techtextil China, the expo is positioned as Asia’s leading sourcing platform for textile professionals.

Following a strong edition last year with around 540 exhibitors and close to 22,000 trade visitors from over 80 countries, the 2025 edition is expected to draw even greater global participation. Exhibitors from key textile-producing countries including China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Türkiye, and various European nations will be showcasing their latest offerings, with an increased emphasis on sustainable and high-performance materials.

Sustainability remains a key theme this year. The expo will spotlight a wide range of eco-friendly innovations, including organic and recycled yarns, biodegradable fibres, bio-based materials, and high-functionality textiles. One of the new additions to the show is a dedicated Silk Yarn Zone, while other highlights include fibres made from seaweed, yarns derived from bottle flakes, and compostable blends. Visitors will also see expanded displays of traceable cotton and hemp products, reflecting growing demand for transparency in sourcing.

Complementing the product showcases will be insightful forums and trend presentations. The “New Fibre New World – Textile Materials Innovation Forum” will bring together experts to discuss topics such as biodegradation, low-carbon materials, traceability, and performance upgrades. Special trend zones, curated by industry leaders, will offer forecasts and insights into future-ready textile innovations.

Organizers describe the expo as more than just a trade fair—it’s a platform for meaningful exchange between East and West, built around the shared goal of sustainable progress. Messe Frankfurt’s leadership emphasizes that the show aims to “put the eco back in economy,” by connecting innovation, supply chain solutions, and eco-conscious sourcing in one venue.

With global demand for sustainable fibres and yarns expected to rise significantly over the next few years, Yarn Expo Autumn 2025 is seen as a timely and influential event. It offers buyers, manufacturers, and innovators a critical space to forge partnerships, explore cutting-edge materials, and align with the future direction of the textile industry.
