Team Group’s Garment Becomes 258th Green Factory of Bangladesh

South End Sweaters, a sweater concern of Team Group, got LEED Platinum certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

It becomes the 258th green garment factory of the country certified by the USGBC. Among the 258 factories in Bangladesh, 109 are Platinum, 133 Gold, 12 Silver and 4 are certified.

In the USGBC, to achieve Platinum rate a factory must secure at least 80 score out of 110, for Gold 60-79 score, for Silver 50-59 score and for certified 40-49 score. 

The South End Sweaters achieved 85 scores.

With South End Sweaters Team Group now owns 3 LEED certified factories – as its outerwear concern 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd is also LEED Platinum and woven concern Brothers Fashion Ltd is LEED Gold certified by the USGBC.

4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd is the world’s 1st outerwear manufacturing company in the world that became a signatory of the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Actions conveyed by the UNFCCC.
