The Foschini Group (TFG) Limited, a South African retail clothing group, has reported a growth of 8.4 per cent year-over-year (YoY) in total sales in the third quarter (Q3) of fiscal 2025 (FY25) ended December 28, 2024. The group’s online sales grew 47.2 per cent in Q3.

TFG has reported its Q3 FY25 results only in percentage growth figures, not in rand/value terms.

The Foschini Group (TFG) has reported 8.4 per cent YoY sales growth in Q3 FY25, with online sales surging 47.2 per cent.
TFG Africa, the largest contributor (71.8 per cent), grew 5.3 per cent, while TFG London rose 45.5 per cent, and TFG Australia declined 3.0 per cent.
For YTD FY25, total sales increased 1.6 per cent, with online sales up 20.8 per cent, contributing 11.3 per cent to retail sales.

TFG Africa, the largest contributor to group turnover with 71.8 per cent share, saw a 5.3 per cent growth in Q3. TFG London posted a robust 45.5 per cent YoY growth in Q3, contributing 14.5 per cent to the group's revenue. TFG Australia, in contrast, recorded a 3.0 per cent decline in Q3, TFG said in a press release.

Within TFG Africa, clothing sales grew by 5.3 per cent YoY in Q3, contributing 75.5 per cent to the region’s turnover. Online sales grew by 49.3 per cent in TFG Africa.

Nine months (9M) financial

The company in the nine-month or year-to-date (YTD) period from April 1 to December 28, 2024, reported an increase of 1.6 per cent YoY in total group sales with gross profit of 5.7 per cent. The gross margin for TFG Africa increased by 210 basis points (bps) for the YTD FY2025.

TFG Africa recorded a 2.2 per cent increase, accounting for 70.8 per cent of the group's total revenue. TFG London saw a 7.2 per cent YoY growth, contributing 13.7 per cent to the overall turnover. Meanwhile, TFG Australia experienced a 5.2 per cent decline in sales, but still accounted for 15.5 per cent of the group's revenue. The online sales increased 20.8 per cent for the YTD FY25, contributing 11.3 per cent to total retail sales.
