Pinterest uses data to pick 2025 color palette

San Francisco, Calif. – Pinterest has mined its data to determine its 2025 Pinterest Palette with five colors for the year predicted from what users are doing on the site.

“The Pinterest Palette is inspired entirely by Pinners—what they’re searching, saving and shopping for on our platform,” said Xanthe Wells, Pinterest vice president of global creative. “We invite people to use the palette to inspire mood boards, shot lists, merchandising assortments—even product development ideas. We can’t wait to see how our colors inspire your marketing in 2025.”

Pinterest uses its data-backed trendspotting methodology and visual search technology to spot what it thinks will be really big in the year ahead in its annual trend report.

From there, Wells said the company zeroed in on search terms that sparked colorful conversations, such as “cherry red fashion” and “soft yellow aesthetics.” The company then mapped the emerging trends and color clusters against first-party platform data.

“By looking at actions like saves, we were able to see which colors were driving engagement over time,” Wells added.

Cherry Red: A statement-maker inspired by bold beauty looks, vibrant fashion, and standout décor. Nail it, wear it, or deck your space in it. It’s the ultimate cherry on top.

Butter Yellow: Playful and warm, this pastel hue is perfect for everything from whimsical table settings to sunny accent walls.

Aura Indigo: Lilac with an edge—moody, magical, and made for cosmic-inspired beauty and dreamy interiors.

Alpine Oat: A cozy-chic neutral, designed for textured layers, minimalistic style, and those perfectly poured latte moments.

Dill Green: Fresh, tangy, and trendy, it’s the perfect color for kitchens, cocktails, and cool wardrobes.
