Norfolk, Va. – Since inking its five-month partnership with Cotton Inc. for the exclusive use of its Seal of Cotton trademark on mattresses, Paramount Sleep Co.said it is seeing traction at retail from the dual-branded approach.
Retailers such as Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s are driving success with Paramount’s luxury collections featuring the Seal of Cotton label, Paramount executives said.
Paramount is the only mattress maker licensed to use the Seal of Cotton label, and the company is taking advantage of the trademark to distinguish its products in the market. Paramount’s mattresses carrying the trademark contain 90% blue cotton and 100% pure cotton.

Retail momentum translates into real numbers on Paramount’s factory floor. Richard Fleck, president of Paramount, estimates the company has used 75,000 pounds of cotton year-to-date to produce mattresses containing Seal of Cotton-qualified components.
“We are not only committed to quality and sustainability; we’re backing that promise with real volume and real material investment,” Fleck said. “And we’re just getting started. We’re actively rolling out the use of cotton and the Seal of Cotton trademark across additional mattress products and retail partners. We continue to leverage the Seal of Cotton at the local and national levels.”
Paramount signed the two-year agreement with Cotton Inc. in April as part of its commitment to quality and sustainability.
The Seal of Cotton is featured on many of Paramount’s most popular mattress collections, including the Paramount Collection, Bloomingdale’s Asteria, Macy’s HD, Hypnos Whole Sleep Cotton, A.H. Beard Classic and the Haynes Virginia Luxury line. The beds, the company said, emphasize cotton’s natural attributes of breathability, moisture wicking, hypoallergenic comfort, and strength and durability. The mattresses are backed by carry 10- to 20-year warranties, depending on the collection.
Cotton Inc. said its Seal of Cotton is recognized by more than 80% of consumers globally. According to its research, retailers and brands leveraging the Seal of Cotton in marketing have achieved double-digit sales increases on products wearing the label.
