New Wet Processing Unit by Good Fashion Fund & K.K.P Fine Linen

AMSTERDAM – The Good Fashion Fund, the Laudes Foundation and the Fashion  for Good initiated fund managed by FOUNT, has made an investment in K.K.P  Fine Linen Private Limited (“KKPFL”) – a leading Indian manufacturer and  exporter of bed linen and made-up products from Namakkal. The 2.0 million US  Dollar loan will support K.K.P’ investment in the installation of an Effluent  Treatment Plant (ETP) in their upcoming wet processing unit in SIPCOT,  Perundurai, Tamil Nadu.

A cutting-edge biological effluent treatment plant (ETP) with a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology will be installed with the investment in K.K.P Fine Linen. The ETP will be a component of SIPCOT’s (Perundurai) recently purchased griege fabric process unit, which has a daily installed capacity of 100,000 meters. The majority of the employees will be recruited from nearby areas, and the business will engage in community and gender development programs in addition to more general environmental and social sustainability projects.

With India becoming as a major home textiles market for both domestic and foreign brands, KKPFL is well-positioned to capitalize on the trend by backward integrating the processing activities, boosting manufacturing efficiency, and expanding their potential revenue. By having complete control over its products, which are made in accordance with the strictest sustainability standards and legal regulations, the company would be able to satisfy the needs of its clients.

In accordance with strict local pollution control regulations, the ETP (including the processing unit) is anticipated to show positive savings, particularly in the areas of chemical consumption, freshwater usage, and material waste reduction. Additionally, KKPFL (as well as the KKP Group) benefits from 100% renewable energy sourced from wind and solar, with around 40 megawatts coming from their own plant.

“We are extremely excited to collaborate with the Good Fashion Fund as the $2 million USD investment in our future wet processing plant allows us to meet the growing demand for sustainable practices in the textile industry,” said Sathesh Kumar Nallathambi, KKP Fine Linen Privated Limited’s managing director.

In our continuous quest for a more sustainable future, this strategic partnership marks a turning point. We are taking decisive action to reaffirm our dedication to sustainable practices with this investment, which will have a long-term effect and propel our business forward.

This support helps us advance as leaders in the home textiles manufacturing industry for sustainability. It guarantees that we set an example for the sustainable fashion movement in addition to meeting today’s expectations.

KKPFL has proactively integrated sustainability in its strategy and operations and continues to strive for  new heights as a young and upcoming bedding and made-ups producer. This partnership marks an  important milestone for KKPFL and GFF.”
