Medical and Personal Protective Equipment Industry segment of Bangladesh Prepares for Global Success with EC4J Workshop

The primary objective of EC4J (Export Competitiveness for Jobs) project is to strengthen export market linkages for potential sectors by showcasing Bangladesh as a credible sourcing destination. It is a project initiated by the Ministry of Commerce. The project recently hosted a workshop focused on the Medical Equipment, Medical Personal Protective Equipment (MPPE), Personal Protective Equipment sectors in Bangladesh at The Green Lounge, Rupayan Trade Center (18th floor), Dhaka. This project aims to boost export of Bangladesh’s burgeoning potential in MPPE industry in the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic.

The workshop was presided over by Sheikh Mohammad Abdur Rahman, Joint Secretary and deputy Project Director of EC4J Project. While Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Secretary, in charge of the Ministry of Commerce graced the workshop as chief guest and the event got conducted by Jabed Ahmed, Chief Consultant of CEMS-Global. The workshop was represented by manufacturers and producers of medical equipment, MPPE, personal protective equipment from Bibeat Technologies Ltd., Beximco Health, Nareenetra Karuponya, Temakaw Fashion Ltd., Desh Garments Ltd., Farseeing knite composite (Shangu Group), Sadma Fashion Wear Ltd, Apparel Promoters Ltd, G.S Garments Ltd, Delicate garments Ltd., FM PLASTIC LTD. etc.

Md. Al Amin, Assistant General Manager, CEMS-Global made a power point presentation providing insights of the project along with the Meet Bangladesh Expo (MBX) and Meet Bangladesh Sourcing Show (MBS) to the participants. MBX, offers a comprehensive platform for local businesses to connect with international buyers. Meet Bangladesh Sourcing Show (MBS) is an initiative designed to showcase Bangladesh’s potential in five key sectors aiming to connect international buyers with Bangladeshi manufacturers. With this objective, Bangladesh is going to showcase MPPE in Medtech in Japan from 9-11 Aprill, 2025 as the Japan Medtec is one of the largest trade fairs for the medical technology and healthcare industry in Asia – said presenter in the workshop highlighting the position of Bangladesh globally in the medical and protective equipment sector. Meherun N. Islam, President and Group Managing Director of CEMS-Global USA & Asia-Pacific was present among many others from CEMS Global.
