
Hult Prize Idea Battle Begins at Textile Engineering College, Noakhali: The Final Showdown Awaits!

For the third consecutive time, Textile Engineering College, Noakhali (TECN) is hosting the prestigious Hult Prize On-Campus Round 2025—one of the world’s largest social entrepreneurship competitions. This highly anticipated event is currently underway, and the first phase, the Abstract Submission Round, has successfully concluded as of February 4, 2025. A diverse group of aspiring changemakers has submitted their groundbreaking ideas, which are now under review.The shortlisted abstracts and next steps will be announced in the coming days.
Dubbed the “Nobel Prize for Students”, the Hult Prize is a globally renowned competition, challenging university students to solve pressing social and environmental issues through sustainable business solutions. It aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), empowering young innovators to make a real-world impact.
This year’s theme, “Unlimited”, pushes teams to think beyond boundaries and create revolutionary solutions that integrate all 17 SDGs. From climate action to poverty alleviation, participants must craft visionary, entrepreneurial initiatives to address global challenges effectively.
Under the dynamic leadership of Campus Director Md. Jahid Hasan, a 29-member organizing committee has been working tirelessly to ensure a seamless and impactful competition. The event officially kicked off on December 15, 2024, with an engaging Orientation Program, setting the stage for the thrilling journey ahead.To guide and prepare participants, a second meetup was held on January 26, 2025, where strategies were refined, and competition guidelines were discussed. According to Md. Jahid Hasan, a remarkable 24 teams have successfully registered and submitted their abstract reflecting the overwhelming enthusiasm and determination of TECN students.
The team registration period for the Hult Prize On-Campus Round at TECN ran from December 23, 2024, to January 23, 2025. The Abstract Submission Round ran from January 24,2025, to February 4, 2025. Selected teams from this phase will move on to the semi-finals, which will take place between February 10 and 14. During this period, Shortlisted teams will present their ideas through slide presentations.
The Grand Final and Award Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for February 22, 2025,the best of the best will battle for the champion title and prizes.This will mark the conclusion of TECN’s Hult Prize On-Campus Program for the 2024-25 session.
To refine and enhance participants’ ideas, four online and two offline mentoring sessions have already been conducted.Notable mentors included Masum Shamzad, CEO of Tulip Tech; Mohammad Tafsirul Islam Rohan, former Campus Director at RUET; and Mohammad Fahim Hossain, founder of Green Lead, who provided valuable guidance.
