Calendar-adjusted Dutch retail turnover up 2.2% YoY in Nov 2024

Calendar-adjusted Dutch retail turnover was 2.2 per cent higher year on year (YoY) in November last year, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Sales volume was up by 0.3 per cent YoY.

Without calendar adjustment, retail turnover in November would have been 2.7 per cent higher YoY.

Retail turnover in the non-food sector (including retail not in shops) increased by 4.4 per cent YoY, while sales volume (turnover adjusted for price changes) in the sector was up by 3.2 per cent YoY.

Calendar-adjusted Dutch retail turnover was 2.2 per cent higher YoY in November 2024; sales volume was up by 0.3 per cent YoY.
Retail turnover in the non-food sector rose by 4.4 per cent YoY, while sales volume in the sector was up by 3.2 per cent YoY.
Shops selling clothes, footwear and leather products saw YoY turnover growth in November.
Online retail turnover increased by 1.8 per cent YoY.

Shops selling clothes, footwear and leather products saw YoY turnover growth in November 2024. However, shops selling home furnishings recorded a decrease in turnover, a CBS release said.

Online retail turnover increased by 1.8 per cent YoY. Online retailers (whose core activity is selling goods and services over the internet) recorded an increase in turnover of 4.2 per cent. Meanwhile, multi-channel retailers (retailers selling goods and services over the internet as a secondary activity) saw turnover in their online sales decline by 1.5 per cent.

Online turnover for other non-food products and clothing and fashion items decreased.
