Macy’s Inc. (NYSE: M) announced that Barbie Cameron has been appointed Chief Stores Officer of Macy’s, effective February 16. Barbie most recently served as the senior vice president and regional director of stores, East Region and had been the interim Chief Stores Officer since August. She reports to Adrian Mitchell, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Macy’s, Inc.

In this role, Barbie leads the store operations across Macy’s nameplate, from flagships to small format stores and its call center operations. Barbie will spearhead initiatives to modernize Macy’s, improve the shopping environment and elevate the customer and colleague experience, as outlined in the company’s Bold New Chapter strategy, Macy’s, Inc.’s three-year plan designed to achieve sustainable profitable growth.

A 37-year Macy's veteran, she previously served as SVP and regional director, East Region, and interim chief stores officer.
Reporting to COO/CFO Adrian Mitchell, she will lead store operations and drive Macy's Bold New Chapter strategy to enhance customer experience and modernisation.

Barbie started her career at Macy’s as a sales manager and quickly advanced to store manager. She has held numerous leadership positions across Macy’s, including roles in merchandising execution and buying. In 2020, she was named senior vice president and regional director, East Region. Her strong business leadership and talent development skills helped navigate the organization during a constantly evolving retail landscape.
